Hello, we are traveling to London from the United States for 5 nights. Would you recommend as a first time visitor getting a Oyster or Visitor Oyster card? How easy is the tube to use and get around? I wasn't sure if we should get a oyster card and just work our way around the city or book actual tours. This is also our first time in the UK!

Ouster card is great. Don’t bother with the visitor one. You can get Oyster card when you arrive and skip the extra charge and the outrageous mailing fee

Most of the stations have lifts. Most stations have a small set of stairs. Any large incline has escalators. There can be long walks in tunnels between the various tube lines. The website has great information. When you are there the station attendants are the most friendly and helpful I have encountered in a transit system. Pick up a tube map as soon as you arrive. In a few rides you will have it completely figured out. Have a great trip
