Emerald Fennell’s decision to cast Jacob Elordi in Wuthering Heights has raised eyebrows in the UK. Deadline revealed on Monday that Elordi and Margot Robbie will star in the Emily Brontë adaptation as Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.

"One difficulty in the casting of Heathcliff is the conundrum Emily left us about his race," Brontë expert Nick Holland told Newsweek of the character.

"Barbie" icon Margot Robbie and "Priscilla" actor Jacob Elordi have signed on to play doomed lovers Cathy and Heathcliff in a new "Wuthering Heights" film.
