Expressing gratitude is pleasing to God, and true worship includes thanking Him. We should give thanks to the Lord for all things. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, Ps. 92:1. Come before his presence with thanksgiving, Ps. 95:1–2. Be thankful unto him, and bless his name, Ps. 100.

Doctrine and Covenants 59: 7, 21 and Alma 34:38 remind Latter-day Saints to give thanks to the Lord "in all things" and "live in thanksgiving daily." "Regardless of our circumstances," President Monson said, "each of us has much for which to be grateful if we will pause and contemplate our blessings."
