Can you still just get coffee here or do you have to get food as well? We often like to come here on Boxing Day but don't want a full meal!

Yes, we only had coffee when we visited in Sept, but I dont know if they will have different arrangements for Boxing Day

We were visiting the gardens and went around then first but I do not think you have to pay for the gardens as when you go into the main building where the cafe and restaurant and shop is situated you actually pay for the garden visit at a desk located in this building.

For the formal afternoon tea (sandwiches, mixture of cakes, cake stand, pretty china etc) you have to book in advance. You can get tea and cakes most other times but if they have been busy earlier in the day you might have limited choice and just a paper cup for your tea.
